DOE gives permission for Farnsworth Seismic Survey
The SWP received permission from DOE to proceed with the design, conduct, and processes of the 3D surface seismic survey, which will be conducted by SWP Partner Schlumberger Carbon Services. Progress on the survey consists of the following:
a. Design completed
b. Survey crews have started laying out shot and geophone locations.
c. Access payments to property owners are in progress.
d. Staging area has been arranged with a landowner and payment for land use has been made.
Shooting is scheduled to start on January 15, 2013 and is expected to take about a month. The mandatory training required for the recording crew has been completed and no major problems are anticipated.
